Feeling better today. My mouth is not as dry which is good, and I'm off the pain meds and on Tylenol. Not as good as the pain meds, but the Tylenol does not make me loopy. Still have a bit of a headache, but nothing unbearable.
Went to the cardiologist for an echo and an EKG. Apparently, chemo may damage your heart so they want to check it out before you start. It appears I'll live one more day.

Hang in there Shawn! We are thinking about you lots and waiting anxiously for the "all clear" sign!
Shawn - I don't think I told you, but the trip I took to Italy last week was organized and planned by a dear friend of mine while she was undergoing chemo and radiation treatments for breast cancer. She chose the cities she wanted to visit in Tuscany, invited over 100 of her closest female friends (35 wound up going) to celebrate her battle in dealing with and overcoming cancer. Several of us also celebrated our recovery or dealing with other disease. This was so empowering. We also toasted five of us turning 50 this year, including one whose birthday was the day we arrived.
If you plan such a trip, and I really hope you do, I vote for the south of France or the Greek Isles. I wouldn't say no to Fiji either. ;-)
Keep up the fight. I lit candles for you in every church I visited. I'm in England now visiting my cousin. Back on Wednesday. xoxo - Annie Grace
